A New Day

A poem by Ally Hella

The sun rises & sets on a new day.

The trees stand tall, but the leaves start to fall.

The river continues to flow,

and while time feels to move slow,

its ticking by.

As the Aspen tree quakes,

our heavy hearts may ache,

but the seasons show us there is beauty in letting go.

In order to grow, we must shed the old.

As the air turns cold, we are reminded that

to everything there is a season.

While we search for the reason,

the universe reminds us we are a part of this

beautiful world…

Even after our bodies fade away.

The sun rises & sets on a new day.
